Break The Silence

Break the Silence is our first album. It’s available in its entirety since 29/12/2017 on SoundCloud.

Break the Silence is the result of one year of work, our first year of collaboration.
The album has been mainly composed on computer after first idea drafted on keyboards.
You can hear some appearance of Korg Z1, Yamaha EX-7, Roland D-50 and Novation Mininova.

01 The Awakening

Anecdote : Première utilisation du synthé IRIS 2 d’Izotope. Loopmash utilisé plus en ‘profondeur’ (quelques customisations). Un des sons utilisé de ce synthé est Warhammer…qui a donné le titre à la chanson.
Btw Warhammer est aussi un jeu avec des figurines (soldats/guerriers).

03 Make Your Life A Journey

Anecdote : Première chanson dont l’écriture commença en décembre 2016. Les paroles ont été écrites en 1/4h par ML un soir d’hiver, lorsque le chat dormait sur le fauteuil et que les arbres étaient effeuillés. Le thème de la chanson est le couple et ses chamailleries quotidiennes et futiles que l’on devrait remplacer par du bonheur et du laisser-aller épicurien pour faire de notre vie un agréable voyage sur terre…
La chanson qui a fait l’objet du plus grand nombre de versions/variations. Une version très proche de la finale est datée du début mai 2017.

Anecdote : Première utilisation simple du Loopmash de Cubase. Les paroles sont extraites d’un ‘poème’ écrit par K pour un travail de classe.

Anecdote : Initialement intitulé Var Z1 pour variations réalisées sur le Korg Z1. My Dear Ducky est un hommage à mon groupe précédant racontant l’errance du personnage dans l’univers de cet album trop vite oublié.
A l’origine le morceau voulait s’inspirer d’un de mes morceaux favoris dans mon ancien groupe.
Au final, comme souvent le morceau n’a plus rien à voir et c’est d’autant mieux.

07 I think you (Dark slow)

Anecdote : Ce morceau est le dernier que nous avons réalisé en 2017 et a été bouclé en 2 semaines.
Une première ébauche était disponible mais en version très brouillon.
Initialement intitulé Dark Slow il se voulait lent et sombre et durait 12 minutes.
Au final le morceau dure 9 minutes et la seconde partie fera très certainement l’objet d’un ou plusieurs nouveaux morceaux.
I think U est un jeu de mot entre remerciement et pensée à mes groupes antérieurs.
Les paroles veulent ainsi boucler avec gratitude une période aujourd’hui résolument derrière moi.

08 Break The Silence

Anecdote : Ce morceau se voulait originalement sombre et puissant.
Il a naturellement évolué vers quelque chose de sans doute plus accessible en bénéficiant de la découverte du groupe Die Antwoord.
Il ne faut certainement pas chercher de lien, mais j’ai voulu expérimenter un chant que je qualifie de plus rap, au sens plus parlé.
Au final il introduit une certaine variété de chants et une progressivité marquée.
Le sujet semble évident et traite de l’épanouissement personnel d’un personnage introverti au travers de la musique.
C’est sans conteste le morceau qui nous aura pris le plus de temps. C’est aussi le plus long de l’album avec ses 12 minutes.
